MONTREAL, Feb. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Groupe Qualitas has acquired Groupe Techmat (Techmat), a company specialized in the materials and geotechnical engineering sectors, headquartered in Saguenay, Quebec.
Techmat will add about 80 employees to the ranks of SNC-Lavalin's Materials & Geotechnical Engineering (Quebec) Division, which already includes the Qualitas and Terratech work forces. The Division now has almost 500 employees in Quebec.
"With the acquisition of Techmat, we are not only bolstering SNC-Lavalin's presence in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean area, we are also enhancing our resources with professionals who have earned one of the most enviable reputations in Quebec, and who will further extend the broad range of services we can offer our clients with the special technologies they have developed," said Charles Malenfant, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Division.
