("Vecima") (TSX:VCM), the Last Mile Solution(R) for broadband wireless and wired networks, announces today the launch of its VistaMAX Starter Kits, the latest addition to Vecima's VistaMAX family of WiMAX products. The VistaMAX Starter Kit operates in the 1.9 and the 3.5 GHz bands and is based on the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard. The Starter Kit is designed to enable operators to assess the performance and capabilities of Vecima's VistaMAX product line. Vecima is committed to supporting the operator through the installation, configuration and evaluation of the Starter Kit to ensure future business.
The Starter Kit is an all inclusive WiMAX solution that can be rapidly and cost effectively deployed by any operator. "In recognition of the different budgetary and technical needs of our customers, the VistaMAX Starter Kit has been carefully designed with five different configurations to provide our customers with the flexibility that we are renowned for," said Robert Forget, Director of Wireless Sales at Vecima.
The basic VistaMAX Starter Kit includes a one sector base station, five outdoor subscriber stations and 3 days of training for four people at Vecima's Saskatoon facilities. As an all inclusive inexpensive solution, the introduction of the Starter Kit further proves Vecima's commitment to smaller cost-conscious customers. The VistaMAX product family is based on IEEE 802.16-2004 standard. The VistaMAX base station is an all-outdoor base station that is contained in weatherproof sealed housing. The VistaMAX base station has an integrated 60, 90 or 120 degree antennas to offer a single box solution for WiMAX applications. External antennas can be accommodated with an optional N female connector. The VistaMAX system also offers both outdoor and indoor subscriber units. The VistaMAX Network Management Server provides full control over all the networks different elements. The VistaMAX has been successfully deployed and trialed worldwide.
