TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 20, 2007) - For the first time ever and for one presentation only, The National Ballet of Canada and Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN) will present The Nutcracker live in high-definition (HD) on December 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. EST exclusively in 69 Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada. Advance tickets go on sale at noon on November 23, 2007 online at www.cineplex.com as well as at participating theatre box offices.

The Nutcracker will be filmed using seven HD cameras at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto and transmitted live to the following theatres throughout Canada:

The Nutcracker
The National Ballet of Canada's The Nutcracker is a magical holiday tradition. This family favourite provides a glimpse into a stunning winter wonderland inspired by Tsarist Russia, complete with dancing bears, silver snowflakes and a Faberge egg that houses The Sugar Plum Fairy. Sold out last year! The December 22 matinee performance runs 115-minutes, with a 20-minute intermission.
The Nutcracker's choreography and libretto are by James Kudelka, music is by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set and costume design are by Santo Loquasto and lighting design is by Jennifer Tipton.
