NHL games exclusive to XM from the 2007/2008 season onward
TORONTO, May 25 /CNW/ - XM Canada (TSX: XSR), announced today it will air every game of the Stanley Cup Final from start to finish beginning with Game 1 on May 28 at 8 p.m. EDT.
"We are thrilled to bring the excitement, action and intense competition of the Stanley Cup Final to hockey fans across North America," said Stephen Tapp, president and chief operating officer of XM Canada. "Not only is hockey Canada's national sport, but it is a sport that unites Canadians regardless of which team they support. At XM Canada, we're passionate about hockey and are committed to delivering the best in NHL coverage and hockey talk."
The Stanley Cup Final pits the Ottawa Senators against the Anaheim Ducks. Hockey fans can listen to the NHL Radio feed on XM Channel 204, the home team broadcast on XM Channel 205 and the visiting team broadcast on XM Channel 206. Anaheim will host Games 1, 2 and, if necessary, Games 5 and 7. The Senators will host Games 3, 4 and, if necessary, Game 6.
"We've finally reached the match-up that hockey fans and experts have been predicting," said Phil Esposito, host of "In the Slot" on XM's HOME ICE Channel. "The Senators are on a roll with Emery proving his worth with each stellar save. Although Anaheim fans might disagree, I would like to point out that the West has dominated the regular season in recent years while the East takes home the hardware."
XM Canada airs the only national 24-hour hockey talk radio channel in Canada. HOME ICE (XM Channel 204) delivers a mix of information and entertainment with analysis and up-to-the second news and highlights from hosts and analysts including Phil Esposito, Denis Potvin, Bill Clement, Mike Bossy, Darren Pang, Gary Green, Bob McKenzie, Scott Laughlin and Jim Tatti.

On July 1, XM becomes the exclusive satellite radio network of the NHL for the next eight seasons. With 24-hour coverage of all things NHL and broadcasting of NHL games, hockey fans across North America can listen to their favourite team face off regardless of their location.
