PUFFS FACIAL TISSUES PARTNERS WITH THE ASTHMA AND ALLERGY FOUNDATION OF AMERICA TO HELP THE NATION BREATHE EASIER
Just In Time for National Allergy Awareness Month, Puffs and the Foundation Offer Tips and Tricks to the Millions of Americans Suffering Earlier Allergy Symptoms This Spring
As National Allergy Awareness Month continues through the month of May, Puffs Facial Tissues is proud to announce their partnership with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). For years, people living with allergies have turned to Puffs to ease the discomfort of their seasonal allergy symptoms – such as annoying sniffles, watery eyes, frequent repeated sneezing - but this year they can expect even more from the tissue brand. Together, Puffs and AAFA are on a mission to help educate people with allergies about how they can help combat the harsh symptoms that can often keep them indoors.
Due to an unseasonably warm winter throughout most of the country, the 40 million Americans with seasonal allergies welcomed back their itchy, runny noses earlier this year. In fact, AAFA reports that spring has been arriving nearly 10 days earlier than it did just 20 years ago. With more pollen in the air, over longer periods of time, people with allergies are more likely to be reaching for their Puffs sooner than expected.
Throughout May, consumers can log on to Puffs Facebook and Twitter pages to find helpful tips and facts from AAFA and allergy expert, Dr. Linda Dahl. With AAFA’s and Dr. Dahl’s guidance, Puffs will provide insightful information to their fans on how they can combat watery eyes and runny noses.
A few top tips from AAFA and Dr. Dahl:
- Stuffy nose? You can thank triggers such as dust mites, pollen, pets and mold for your discomfort. However, you can control such allergens by vacuuming carpets regularly, washing area rugs and using washable-slip covers on furniture.
- You know its allergy season when you have Puffs tissues at the ready! One way to help a runny nose includes blowing your nose with a soft, durable tissue such as Puffs Ultra Soft and Strong; or placing a balled up piece of tissue – about the size of your nostril – into one nostril, then relax and breathe through your mouth; remove then repeat with the other side.
- Check your allergens at the door! Pollen and other allergens can collect on the bottom of your shoes and be transferred to your carpeting, clothing and furniture. Don’t bring them inside with you after you’ve been outdoors. Once you return home, take off your shoes and take a quick shower.
“With an especially tough allergy season anticipated this year, we’re proud to partner with AAFA and Dr. Linda Dahl to provide a helpful resource and community for our active Puff fans and followers,” said Laura Dressman, Puffs Facial Tissues.
“It was a natural fit to team up with Puffs this allergy season,” said Mike Tringale, Vice President of External Affairs for AAFA. “No matter what causes the sniffles and sneezes, patients want comfort when dealing with these aggravating symptoms, and great products like Puffs tissues are part of total quality care.”
Puffs Facial Tissues are available in most stores across the U.S. and at multiple eRetailers year-round.
