Atrium presents its products at one of the most prestigious meetings in
the cosmetics industry
QUEBEC CITY, Dec. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Atrium Biotechnologies Inc. (TSX: ATB) recently launched its new line of marine cosmetic ingredients Homeosta-SEA(TM) at the annual meeting of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists held on December 7, 2006 in New York. Homeosta-SEA(TM) was previously introduced to Asian customers at various trade shows in India and Japan and it is now offered to the cosmetics industry worldwide.
Atrium launched a line consisting of four active ingredients derived from algae found in the Atlantic Ocean developed after several months of research in cooperation with Oceanova Biotechnologies and is intended for cosmetic manufacturers. Among other things, this line helps fight the adverse effects of modern living on the skin's natural equilibrium for a healthy and younger looking skin. All four ingredients have their own well-defined biological profile and, when used in combination, they help protect the skin against damage caused by sun exposure, pollution, aging and inflammation. It has been shown that these clinically tested cosmetic actives can fight the signs of aging by reducing the appearance of wrinkles, soothing sensitive skin and making the skin more resistant to daily aggressions.
"We are especially proud to present this new line of unique and innovative cosmetic actives to the entire cosmetics industry", stated Charles Boulanger, President of Atrium's Active Ingredients & Specialty Chemicals Division. "The ingredients contained in the Homeosta-SEA(TM) line are the perfect combination for anti-aging and soothing care. With a growth rate of over 12% in the United States, the anti-aging ingredient market is growing steadily and Atrium is a major player. The introduction of this new line of cosmetic actives will further strengthen our leading position in this sector", Mr. Boulanger added.
