VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 14, 2006) - Journey Resources Corp. ("Journey") (TSX VENTURE:JNY)(FRANKFURT:JL4) is pleased to report that drilling is underway, exploration mapping and sampling of the surface and underground exposures is in progress at its 100% owned Vianey Property in north-central Guerrero State, Mexico.

On June 28, 2006, Journey entered into an option agreement with Wits Basin Precious Minerals Inc., whereby Journey granted Wits Basin an exclusive option to acquire up to a 50% interest in certain mining claims comprising the Vianey Mine Concession.

In conjunction with Wits basin, Jack Bal, President of Journey Resources Corp. and Qualified Person on the Vianey project, Rodney A. Blakestad, J.D., C.P.G of Sahuarita, Arizona, visited the Vianey property on November 28th and 29th.

The surface drilling program is designed to penetrate the Vianey vein system at depths below the -75 meter level, which is the deepest level of prior underground mine production, thereby extending the depth extent of mineralization. In addition, the drilling will examine the ground from the surface to the Vianey vein to prospect for other potential zones of mineralization that may not be recognized from previous underground work, and will include further examination of the San Pedro and Twilight mineralized breccia zones.

Surface and underground mapping and sampling will assist in the assessment of the property for further work contemplated in 2007. High-grade silver mineralization with supporting zinc, lead, copper and gold credits has been encountered. Sixty-five samples have been shipped to the ALS Chemex for analysis. Preliminary assay data from select samples is reported below:

The Vianey Mine is a poly-metallic (Zn-Pb-Cu sulphides) vein system with substantial silver and minor gold credits, situated in limestone-argillite-siltstone rocks of the Cretaceous Morelos-Guerrero Basin. Numerous poly-metallic veins, skarns, and replacement deposits occur in the district, usually associated with intrusive masses of granodiorite plutons and dikes. The Twilight Zone breccia and San Pedro breccia are mineralized zones within and adjacent to granodiorite igneous rocks, thus there is an important relationship between the sedimentary rocks, veins, breccias and intrusive rocks at the Vianey Mine.

A review of past calculations, including the most recent exploration activities completed in 1997, by Hawley, P.J., 2000b, provides a total in all categories of 345,020 metric tonnes grading 2.13% lead, 3.66% zinc and 269 grams of silver per tonne. (These data are historical resource estimates under National Instrument 43-101, which have not been sufficiently verified by a qualified person to be classified as current mineral resources. Neither Journey nor Wits Basin are treating these historical estimates as current resource estimates and therefore, these historical estimates should not be relied upon).

The design and overall management of the program is being provided by Journey's consulting geologist Rodney A. Blakestad, J.D., C.P.G. This press release has been prepared in-part by Rodney Blakestad, the Independent Qualified Person (QP), as defined by NI 43-101, on the Vianey project.

Mr. Jack Bal, President of Journey, commented: "I am encouraged by the grade of surface and underground samples in the Vianey Mine. To date, these results are consistent with the grade values published in historical reports".

Journey Resources Corp. is a mineral-exploration resource company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange (Symbol:JNY). The Company is currently exploring three advanced exploration-stage projects; the Vianey Mine Silver Project, the Musgrove Gold Project and the Empire Mine Project. The Vianey Mine Project consists of concessions totaling 5,022 hectares in Guerrero State west of Mexico City, Mexico. The Musgrove Project is a prospect for a disseminated gold bulk-tonnage surface project similar to the Beartrack Mine, a nearby former gold producer. The Empire Mine Project is a poly-metallic skarn deposit containing copper, zinc, gold and silver ores, and is located in the Alder Creek Mining District in Custer County, Idaho.
