TORONTO, Sept. 13, 2011 /CNW/ - Claymore Investments, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent exchange‐traded funds ("ETFs") in Canada, is pleased to announce the launch of the common and advisor class units of the Claymore SP US Dividend Growers ETF (TSX:CUD/CUD.A).
The Claymore SP US Dividend Growers ETF has been designed to replicate, to the extent possible, the performance of the SP High Yield Dividend Aristocrats CAD Hedged Index, net of expenses. The SP High Yield Dividend Aristocrats CAD Hedged Index is comprised of the 60 highest dividend yielding constituents of the stocks of the SP Composite 1500 Index that have increased dividends every year for at least 25 consecutive years.
"Investors recognize that dividends play an important part in growing their wealth. Dividends provide the potential to increase capital returns and an added degree of protection from an income stream not tied to the stock price," said Som Seif, President CEO of Claymore Investments, Inc. "Building on the success of our Canadian dividend grower strategy, the Claymore SP/TSX Canadian Dividend ETF, the Claymore SP US Dividend Growers ETF offers investors intelligent, low cost, and currency hedged exposure to US dividend paying companies."
The Claymore SP US Dividend Growers ETF has closed the initial offering of its units and the units will begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange when it opens this morning.
