Jul. 21, 2011 (Canada NewsWire Group) --
TORONTO, July 21, 2011 /CNW/ - Cleanfield Alternative Energy Inc. ("Cleanfield") (TSX VENTURE: AIR), a leader in innovative, sustainable energy technologies and building-integrated solutions, is pleased to announce that it has further penetrated the academic sector with its proprietary vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWT). A Cleanfield VAWT has been installed at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA) and a second unit has been shipped to Ryerson University (Ontario, Canada).
These two prestigious Universities are now part of a growing list of
academic clients whose adoption of
Cleanfield's turbines is seen as a tremendous endorsement of our solution. Cleanfield now has VAWT units operating at Virginia Tech University, University of Dayton, University of Regina, and Mohawk College.
Commenting on these sales Cleanfield Chief Executive Officer Tony
Verrelli said: "Just as Apple Computer
was very successful in expanding market share by getting Macintosh Computers into the hands of students, we see tremendous future upside as students from these schools move into the corporate environment, bringing with them an affinity for the Cleanfield VAWT."
Mr. Verrelli went on to say: "As Notre Dame is one of the few universities to regularly rank in the top 25 in the U.S. News & World Report survey of America's best colleges and universities, we fully expect their reputation to be influential in bringing other schools to adopt our VAWT technology. We look forward to increasing our market share in the academic market."
Subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval, Cleanfield will issue 250,000 common shares at $0.08 per share to satisfy certain debt owing to an arm's length creditor of its subsidiary, Cleanfield Energy Corp. Upon Exchange approval, the shares will be issued and subject to a four-month Exchange hold period.
