TORONTO, July 12, 2011 /CNW/ - Five! Six! Seven! Eight…! The countdown is on for the all-new six-part original series, Canada Sings premiering Wednesday, August 3 - 9pm ET/PT on Global.
The much anticipated Global reality show (6x1 hour) follows 12 workplace glee clubs from across Canada as they endure long days of training all to compete for the chance to win a cash donation for their charity of choice. Jann Arden, Simple Plan's Pierre Bouvier and Rob Van Winkle a.k.a. Vanilla Ice lead the all-important judging panel with ET Canada's Hollywood Correspondent, Matte Babel playing Host to all the drama and fierce competition.
"Canada Sings stands out above the crowd because the budding talents featured in this series are driven to succeed for charity," commented Barb Williams, Senior Vice-President, Content, Shaw Media. "From both the coaches and performers, the passion for singing and entertaining is clearly evident with the blood, sweat and tears each glee club puts into their final performance. Canadians will be awestruck by their amazing talent."
Each episode will feature two teams paired in competition with the celebrity judging panel declaring the winning glee club at the end of the hour. From behind-the-scenes at the intense rehearsals and song selections to giving it their all for their final performance on stage, the emotional and physical highs and lows will have Canadians nationwide cheering for their favourite team.
