VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 1, 2006) - Nautilus Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NUS) (the "Company" or "Nautilus") is pleased to announce that it has appointed Shontel Norgate as Chief Financial Officer commencing on 6 September, 2006.
Shontel is currently Financial Controller and has acted as CFO of Macarthur Coal Ltd., a publicly listed Australian (ASX Top 200) coal mining company with a market capitalisation of approximately AUD 1 billion. Prior to Macarthur Coal, Shontel was the Financial Controller of Southern Pacific Petroleum NL, a listed exploration company, as it went through the transition from exploration to owner/operator of a commercial oil shale demonstration plant. She commenced her professional career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
President and CEO David Heydon says that, "Shontel brings a high level of financial skills to Nautilus's management team as it moves in to pre-development phase and considers its project development and financing options. Shontel's extensive commercial experience in the resources industry including debt and equity finance, financial reporting, project management, corporate governance, commercial negotiations and business analysis will complement the already strong technical and business skills on the management team."
Shontel has been a member of the Chartered Secretaries of Australia since 1999 and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 1996.
