Special measures in effect for the past week
May 6, 2011 (Marketwire Canada) --
MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- National Bank (TSX:NA) announced today that it has implemented special measures to assist clients affected by unprecedented flooding along the Richelieu and Yamaska Rivers in Montérégie.
"We can't just ignore this natural disaster that has affected thousands of local families," said Réjean Lévesque, Executive Vice-President – Personal and Commercial Banking. "In addition to collecting donations from the public at all our branches in Quebec, we will sit down with our clients affected by this disaster to see what we can do to quickly meet their financial concerns, as we have done in the past in similar situations."
The special measures for National Bank Financial Group clients came into effect last Friday, and provide for solutions adapted to the specific needs of each client. These measures include, among other things:
Deferred payments on personal loans
Deferred payments of principal and interest on personal mortgage loans
Personalized, case-by-case agreements for affected business clients
Clients affected by the flooding are invited to contact their branch so that their case can be processed as soon as possible.
