VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Feb. 24, 2011 (Marketwire) --

Imperial Metals Corporation (TSX:III) welcomes the announcement of the approval of the Northwest Transmission Line project. The 344 kilometre 287 kilovolt power line will provide power to British Columbia's northwest region along the Highway 37 corridor north of Terrace.

"We are extremely pleased at this positive outcome to the environmental assessment process," said Imperial President Brian Kynoch.
