VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 5, 2006) - Adriana Resources Inc. ("Adriana") - (TSX VENTURE:ADI) is pleased to announce that recent work on the MIE project has identified the potential for strataform and structurally controlled uranium mineralization in the Hornby Bay Basin on its wholly owned MIE project properties in Nunavut, Canada.

Both the Hornby Bay and Dismal Lakes Group sediments are known to contain numerous uranium occurrences through the work of Unor Inc. - (TSX VENTURE:UNI) (formerly Hornby Bay Exploration Ltd.), and Triex Minerals Corp. - (TSX VENTURE:TXM) with Pitchstone Exploration Ltd. - (TSX VENTURE:PXP), owners and developers of the Mountain Lake Uranium deposit. Unor Inc. reported on March 31, 2006 that Cameco Corporation is negotiating to acquire a 19.5% interest in Unor that would see Cameco investing over $7 million to fund uranium exploration in the Hornby Bay Basin. Unor's 2006 drill program is budgeted at $6 million. Triex/Pitchstone is planning to carry out a $2 million drill program. Triex reported "There is an inferred resource of 8.2 million pounds U3O8 with an average grade of 0.23% U3O8 contained in 1.6 million tonnes of rock" at the Mountain Lake deposit.

Adriana is reviewing the results of advanced data processing of their 2005 VTEM survey. Condor Consulting Ltd., recognized experts in the field of airborne electromagnetics, have been retained to perform a detailed interpretation of the VTEM processing results. The final conclusions regarding the survey are still pending. In the meantime, the following preliminary comments can be made: there are numerous formational conductors representative of the graphitic horizons in the Athabasca basin and these conductors are along strike of known uranium mineralization on properties adjacent to the MIE project.

The known uranium mineralization commonly occurs in and adjacent to structures of the Hornby Bay Basin. Triex/Pitchstone's Mountain Lake uranium deposit occurs higher in the sedimentary sequence, within the Dismal Lakes Group sediments that unconformably overly the Hornby Bay Group.

The MIE conductive horizon identified by Adriana occurs in sedimentary rocks of the Dismal Lakes Group. The conductor is shallow, nearly horizontal, and bounded by structures that have uranium mineralization along strike. The surface projection of the conductive horizon covers an area of approximately 16 by 6 kilometers.

As announced on March 6, 2006, Adriana has an agreement with Unor Inc. to exchange information, offering both companies a greater understanding of the mineralizing systems within the Hornby Bay Basin.

Adriana is planning an expanded exploration program consisting of ground geophysical surveys, surface geological mapping and geochemical sampling to generate specific drill targets for uranium mineralization.
