TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - BAJA, INC. is voluntarily recalling MY2008 BAJA SC50 (Product# 27-9887) scooters sold at Canadian Tire. It has been determined by Environment Canada these scooters violate On-Road Vehicle and Engine Emission Regulations. Consumers are asked to stop using these scooters and return their unit to a Canadian Tire store for reimbursement of the purchase price paid.
These scooters were manufactured in China by CHONGQUING HUANSONG INDUSTRIAL GROUP CO. LTD. and are identified by a white label affixed to either the muffler or transmission, bearing engine family number 8TMTC.049MC3 (the "Unit"). The Unit's Vehicle Identification Number will begin with the characters LWG.
To receive a full refund from a Canadian Tire store consumers are asked to return their scooter to the store with proof of purchase and ownership.
