TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 25, 2006) - Amerix Precious Metals Corporation ("Amerix"), (TSX VENTURE:APM)(FWB:NJG) is pleased to report that drilling has commenced at the Nova Brasilia prospect at its Vila Porto Rico property in Para State, Brazil.
The first holes are stationed 10 meters north of the Aracati pit. The first drill hole will be drilled at an angle of minus 70 degrees and the second at minus 50 degrees in order to intersect the steeply dipping mineralized zone observed in the Aracati pit.
In October 2005, Amerix announced the results of grab sampling in the area of Nova Brasilia and the Aracati garimpeiro pit where grab samples ranged from 9.54 grams gold per tonne (gpt) in garimpeiro tailings to 162.74 gpt in the main vein. Four additional grab samples taken by Amerix geologists from the encasing gneissic rock were rich in sulfides and returned assays of 29.68, 4.31, 27.74, and 5.64 gpt. The mineralized zone has been consistently traced over a distance of 2.5 km along strike and is rich in sulfides and carbonates associated with quartz veins.
