VANCOUVER, April 6 /CNW/ - Bear Creek Mining (TSX-V: BCM) ("Bear Creek"
or the "Company") is very pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Leduc to
the position of Vice President Technical Services effective immediately.
Mr. Leduc will form part of the Company's executive management team and
will lead Bear Creek through the scoping and pre-feasibility studies planned
for the next twelve months on the Corani Silver Deposit.
Mr. Leduc has extensive experience in the mining industry where, over the
last 17 years, he has been involved in all aspects of operations, planning and
evaluation of large scale mining projects for Barrick Gold, Vector Engineering
and Lafarge Dundas. He has led technical teams in the design and construction
of large open pit heap leach deposits.
During his ten years of experience in Latin America, Mr. Leduc has lived
in Peru for two years where he was one of the key professionals on the design,
development, construction and initial operation of the Pierina Mine.
Mr Leduc is qualified as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and British
Columbia and he holds both a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mining Engineering from Queen's
University and a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Ottawa.

The Board of Directors welcomes Marc Leduc's addition to the management
team as an important component in Bear Creek achieving its strategic objective
of enhancing shareholder value through fast-track development of Corani, an
important new large scale silver discovery.
The Company is also pleased to announce their graduation to the Tier 1 of
TSX-V.
