Rennie, CEO of Spur Ventures, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joel Jeangrand to the position of Vice President, Corporate Development. "Joel comes to Spur with over 15 years experience in Business Development most of which he spent in the greater China region with Paris-based Eramet and its various subsidiaries. Eramet, a French company, is the world's largest ferro-nickel producer. His experience in mining and metallurgy combined with his on-the-ground experience in China dealing with sino-foreign joint ventures will be a great asset to Spur" Dr. Rennie said. Joel worked for 12 years with Eramet in its Mining and Metallurgical Group in various capacities of increasing responsibility. He was Vice President - Eramet International in Hong Kong and Shanghai and Asian Sales Manager of Comilog Far East from 1998 to 2003. He also spent 2 years in Paris from 1996 to 1998 as Market Research and Business Development Manager for Comilog International (Eramet's newly acquired manganese business). From 1991 to 1996, Joel was the Managing Director of Eramet Far East (Eramet's subsidiary in Taiwan). His most recent position was at Coleman Associates Consulting in Vancouver where he was General Manager & Senior Consultant in Business Strategy. Joel holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration, from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver (2005), a Diplome from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce of Toulon, France (1989) and a Diplome in physics from the Institut Universitaire de Technologie of Caen, France (1987). Joel is fluent in spoken and written English and French and with good basis of Mandarin. Subject to TSX approval, Joel has been awarded options to purchase 200,000 common shares in the capital stock of Spur at a strike price of $1.50 per share.
