Absolute shows off anticipated iOS4 management, enhanced BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile solution
ORLANDO, Fla. and VANCOUVER, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - Absolute® Software Corporation ("Absolute" or the "Company") (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and secure computer lifecycle management solutions, announced today that it is showcasing the management and security of popular mobile devices, including locating, locking and wiping Apple® iOS4, BlackBerry®, Symbian and Windows® Mobile devices, using its Computrace® and Absolute Manage solutions during the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Florida.
The consumerization of IT has seen popular mobile devices integrated into the workday more than ever before. Absolute's computer lifecycle management solutions are purpose-built for IT administrators to track, manage and protect mobile devices and PC and Mac® computers from within a single intuitive management console accessible from both PC and Mac environments.
"We have been seeing organizations limiting the use and deployment of popular consumer mobile devices because of data leakage concerns from device loss and theft. One of our customers even passed on buying 2,000 iDevices because they could not effectively manage and secure them," said Bill Hunka, Area Vice President of Business Development at Absolute. "But with our manage, locate, lock and wipe abilities, customers can now feel confident in achieving the cost savings and competitive advantages from allowing employees to leverage these popular mobile devices. We will continue to add support for new device platforms to ensure customers can seamlessly manage and secure their expanding cross-platform environments."
To show that IT administrators need not avoid popular mobile devices in the workplace due to their inability to manage and secure them, experts from Absolute are on hand at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo to showcase Absolute Manage and Computrace. Highlights include:
Management and security of Apple iOS4 devices from within the comprehensive Absolute Manage computer lifecycle configuration management suite. This solution can gather hardware and software information, lock and wipe a device, manage and deploy profiles, and deploy in-house applications.
Geofencing and data protection on BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices using the Computrace tracking and recovery solution. Computrace allows organizations to locate devices and expand their security perimeter to secure and manage all of these devices.
Location details: Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Florida. Booth 702.
