TORONTO, ONTARIO, Oct. 5, 2010 (Marketwire) -- HARTE GOLD CORP. ("Harte") (TSX VENTURE:HRT)(FRANKFURT:H4O) is pleased to announce assay results of up to 28.3 g/t from recent trenching and sampling at the new disseminated sulphide, meta-sediment, gold discovery on the Sugar Zone Property.
Current assays returned values of 28.3 g/t, 9.49 g/t, 6.35 g/t, 5.1 g/t and 2.5 g/t from grab samples taken from bedrock located north of the area of previous sampling (6.53 g/t and 5.97 g/t grab samples see press release September 21, 2010). Current assays represent a northward extension of the Trench 2 Zone. Five other grab samples taken in the area returned anomalous gold values of 410, 237, 60, 59 and 30 ppb. The Company is continuing to excavate and sample areas associated with recently discovered IP anomalies.
Overburden was cleared with an excavator to expose fresh bedrock which was sampled by Mr. George A. Flach, P.Geo., VP Exploration of Harte. This mineralization may not be representative of future drill results. All samples were assayed at Activation Laboratories, Thunder Bay, Ontario using standard fire assay methods with AA finish.
The Company also announced it is accelerating the start of a diamond drill program to focus on the new discovery zone. A drill rig will arrive on site next week to begin a 1,500 metre program to test certain IP anomalies, particularly where surface sampling has shown gold mineralization.
Once road improvements are completed at least one additional drill rig will arrive on site to resume drilling on the Sugar Zone.
