TORONTO, ONTARIO, Sep. 17, 2010 (Marketwire) -- CROWFLIGHT MINERALS INC. ("Crowflight" or the "Company") (TSX:CML) today announced its production results for the month of August 2010 from the Bucko Lake Nickel Mine (Bucko) located in the Thompson Nickel Belt near Wabowden, Manitoba.
Bucko Production Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the month of August are as follows:
Tonnes mined: 21,400
Tonnes processed: 17,799
Grade: 1.35% Ni
Tonnes per day (tpd) mined: 690.3
Tonnes per day (tpd) processed: 574.2
Mill performance: 57% (of 1,000 tpd target)
Nickel concentrate produced: 1,204 tonnes
Nickel concentrate grade: 14.6%
Contained pounds of nickel: 393,466
As well, due to the mill at the Bucko Mine being unavailable for a period of six days during early September for relining of the nickel concentrator rod mill, the Company does not expect the 1,000 tpd production target for the month of September to be met.
Crowflight's President and CEO, Mark Trevisiol commented "We have continued to face challenges at the Bucko Mine that have impacted our production results. In August, water quality issues affected throughput levels in our concentrator. Underground mining operations were affected by lower mobile equipment availability, gaps in manpower skillsets and backfilling restrictions. As a result of the lower volumes being mined and milled, Crowflight continues to be faced with a working capital shortfall. We have seen improvement in metal recoveries over previous periods, with this period averaging 74.3%."
