Rockgate Intercepts 1.21% U3O8, 1,307.0 g/t Ag and 0.84% Cu Over 2.0 Metres at Falea Project, Mali, West Africa

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug. 9, 2010 (Marketwire) -- Rockgate Capital Corp. (TSX:RGT) (the "Company") is pleased to announce assay results from recently completed step-out and exploration diamond drill holes in the Plateau Edge Structure ("PES") on Rockgate's 100% owned Falea Project. Table 1 highlights some of the high uranium grades encountered along the PES, including 1.55% and 1.21% U3O8 over 2 metres in both DF-226 and DF-227.

Assay results for infill drill holes DF-243 to DF-264 on the Plateau Edge
Structure are pending.

Discussion

-- Step-out drilling has confirmed the extension of the high-grade Plateau
Edge Structure to the north-west, with associated high-grade silver
mineralization.
-- Since its discovery in November 2009, the PES has been drill-tested at
50 x 50 metre spacing along 600 metres of strike, thus far demonstrating
strong continuity of grade and structure open to the northwest,
approximately 200 to 300 metres to the west of the area of the Bodi
drilling.
-- 25 x 25 metre spaced drilling has tested a possible source of
mineralization (feeder structure). Assays are pending.
-- Mineralization occurs proximal to a significant synsedimentary
structure.
-- The PES continues to host high-grade uranium mineralization in both the
sandstone and lower conglomerate horizons, situated just above the
unconformity.
-- High-grade silver mineralization has also been found within the PES and
may indicate cross- cutting northeast-trending structures.
-- Based on the results of the holes completed in the Bodi area, there is
now the potential for at least three zones of mineralization to occur in
this area: the PES extension, the DF-091 Zone (see below), and the
original Bodi Showing.
-- Rockgate is currently designing a diamond drilling program to drill test
the Bodi and the Kania Showings to assess potential mineralization
amenable to open pit recovery. Both Bodi and Kania have uranium
mineralization exposed at surface with grades of up to 0.27% U3O8.

North Zone

Fourteen step-out and exploration diamond drill holes were also completed in the original North Zone Area. Highlights are presented in Table 2.

-- DF-202, DF-216, DF-222, and DF-231 are between 175 to 250 metres due
north of previously reported hole DF-168, which is part of a north
trending zone of high-grade uranium and silver. DF-168 returned 0.12%
U3O8, 2645 g/tonne silver and 0.16% copper over 7.0 metres.
-- DF-240 and DF-241 are located 50 metres north and north-west of DF-148,
respectively. DF-148 returned 0.20% U3O8 over 9.0 metres, as previously
reported.

Bodi Area (091 Zone)

Eleven diamond drill holes were completed 100 to 200 metres west of the Bodi Showing near DF-091. DF-091 assayed 2.02% U3O8 over 0.50 metres, as previously reported. Results from DF-091, DF-209, DF-214, and DF-217 (Table 3) confirm mineralization trending to the northwest, parallel to the PES. This new trend, the 091 Zone, lies within 500 metres of PES mineralization and is projected to run approximately 250 metres to the east. The actual Bodi Showing is located approximately 200 metres east of the 091 Zone trend and may also be trending to the northwest. Thus, there are potentially three or more parallel zones of mineralization in this area.

A comprehensive summary of all assay results for the spring 2010 diamond drilling program are posted on the Rockgate website (www.rockgatecapital.com).

Mr. Lorne Warner, P.Geo, Director and VP Exploration, is the Qualified Person for the Company under NI 43-101. All core samples are sawed in half on site and sent to ALS-Chemex in Bamako for sample preparation. Pulps are then sent to ALS-Chemex in Johannesburg, South Africa, for ICP-MS and XRF analysis. As part of its comprehensive quality assurance - quality control (QAQC) protocol, the company inserts a standard, blank and requests a duplicate sample be run in every batch of 20 samples. In addition, the lab inserts blanks, standards and duplicates with each shipment as part of their internal QAQC program. Data that falls outside the control limits is investigated and repeated as necessary.
