VANCOUVER, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - ACERO-MARTIN EXPLORATION INC. (the "Company")
is pleased to announce that it has resumed drilling at its Pinaya copper-gold
project, located in southern Peru. It is anticipated that drilling will
continue until just prior to Christmas, and will recommence in the New Year.
In addition, the company is in receipt of preliminary results from the
recently completed deep penetrating IP Geophysical Survey. A total of 21.5
line-kilometres were surveyed at the Pinaya Property. The IP survey allows the
examination of resistivity and conductivity characteristics to depths of 400
metres. The purpose of the program was to test below the weathered profile for
hypogene copper mineralization.
Initial drilling has commenced at a location approximately 50 metres to
the southeast of drill hole 17. This hole will test the southerly extension of
the porphyry copper-gold mineralization previously intersected in holes 16 and
17. Hole 16 intersected 296.50 metres of 0.58 g/t Au and 0.31 % Cu, which
includes 90.50 metres of 0.87 g/t Au and 0.68 % Cu; and Hole 17 which
intersected 57.7 metres of 1.00 % Cu and 1.04 g/t Au. Prior drilling
intersected both shallow oxide and supergene copper mineralization. The
recently completed IP survey shows a strong IP Chargeability anomaly below the
aforementioned mineralization starting at a depth of about 150 metres. A
preliminary review of the data shows the anomaly to be approximately 300 to
350 metres wide and continues to depth. Previously geophysical surveys did not
show this anomaly.
Results from the recently completed geophysical survey will be released
once they have been interpreted.
