Jun. 30, 2010 (Canada NewsWire Group) -- Canadian Tire is voluntarily recalling base panels in the Sandstone Gazebos (product No.88-0422) and select Gardenview Gazebos (product No.88-0383) as it has been determined that the fabric in the base panels of these gazebos does not meet Health Canada's flammability requirements. The Sandstone Gazebo was available at Canadian Tire stores from 2007 to 2008, and the Gardenview Gazebo was available this year.
There have been no reported incidents of fire or injury.
Base panels on all Sandstone Gazebos (No.88-0422) and select Gardenview Gazebos (No.88-0383) are non-compliant and affected by this recall. Customers using these gazebos are asked to follow instructions below to identify non-compliant gazebo base panels. If the base panels in gazebos are found to be non-compliant, customers should remove them immediately and contact Sunjoy Industries, toll-free at 1-866-578-6569, to have free replacement base panels shipped to them at no cost. The replacement panels will come with instructions for easy installation.
Instructions for identifying non-compliant gazebo base panels:
The material used in the canopy of all Gardenview and Sandstone Gazebos is compliant. Customers should check if the material in the gazebo canopy and base panels are the same. If not, the gazebo base panels are not compliant and customers will need to replace them immediately. If the materials used in the canopy and base panels are the same, customers have a compliant gazebo and do not need to take any further action.
