DUMONT NICKEL INC. (DNI : TSX-Ven, DG7 : Frankfurt)
TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Dumont Nickel Inc. (DNI:TSX-Ven, DG7:FSE) is pleased to announce that it has completed the first stage of sampling on its Alberta polymetallic black shale Properties. This work consisted of re-sampling of all available historic drill core previously archived by third parties from the Properties, in addition to field sampling of select stratigraphic sections of the shales exposed at strategic locations on the Properties.
Samples, ranging 2kg-25kg each, are being submitted for analysis prior to commencement of leaching testwork programs to optimize recovery parameters for the recovery of metals from the black shales. The testwork will be conducted at several facilities.
Additional testwork is also being organized to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of the black shale formations as potential hosts to carbon (CO(2)) capture and sequestration. Details will be announced once the studies are launched.
Dumont also announces that it has received TSX Venture Exchange approval to expand its Stock Option Plan (the "Plan") to increase the number of common shares in the share capital of the Company reserved for issuance under the Plan from 12,000,000 to 16,500,000 common shares.
Dumont continues to focus its efforts on its polymetallic black shale Properties in Alberta, and on its carried interest in the recent diamond discovery from its Attawapiskat Property, Ontario.
