CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 21, 2009) - Alberta Employment and Immigration released on April 21, 2009 the results of its provincial investigation regarding the April 24, 2007 incident that occurred at Canadian Natural Resources Limited's Horizon Oil Sands site. Canadian Natural Resources Limited (TSX:CNQ) (NYSE:CNQ) has fully cooperated in the investigation.
For the duration of the Horizon Project we maintained a strong safety record on the construction site. We were deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of the two contract workers and the related injuries to the associated contract workers. Our heartfelt sympathies are again extended to their families, friends and co-workers.
As this incident is now in formal legal proceedings, no further comment will be issued by Canadian Natural Resources Limited until the matter has been fully resolved.
