VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 30, 2009) - Bayfield Ventures Corp. (TSX VENTURE:BYV) (FRANKFURT:B4N) (the "Company") announces that it has issued 15,000 common shares and paid the sum of $10,000 in connection with its Option Agreement dated February 1, 2007 with Leonard Strom whereby the Company has been granted an option to earn a 100% interest, subject to a 2% net smelter return royalty, in 1 patented claim block located along the eastern section of Bayfield's Claim Block "C" property, Sifton Township, Rainy River District, NW Ontario.

The common shares issued are subject to a four month hold period under applicable securities laws, and imposed by the TSX Venture Exchange, expiring May 29, 2009.
In order to earn a 100% interest in the property, the Company must make further cash payments of $15,000 and issue 20,000 common shares over the remaining one year term of the Agreement.
Bayfield Ventures Corp. is actively involved in the exploration for gold in Northwestern Ontario. Property partners include Goldcorp.
