KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - July 24, 2008) - Cassidy Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CDY) announces that Coffey Mining has been retained to complete resource modelling and an updated resource estimate for the Kouroussa Project. Coffey Mining will also complete a Scoping Study for Kouroussa based on the updated resource. SENET of South Africa has been retained to explore processing and plant design options for the project. Anticipated completion of the Scoping Study and report is November 2008.
The current study will build upon scoping work conducted in late 2007 by Coffey Mining and SENET. That earlier work suggested that a larger resource base was required to justify an operation producing in excess of 100,000 ounces of gold per year. Further work will investigate lower throughput options to scale the project appropriately. In addition, a 14,899-metre RC drill program completed between November 2007 and May 2008 was successful in extending and refining the near-surface mineralization in and around the Junction, Sanu Filanan, and JJ/KD-1 deposits.
