TORONTO, June 20 /CNW/ - George Weston Limited ("Weston") announced today
the closing of its sale of the Heritage Salmon Canadian East Coast aquaculture
operations to Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a New Brunswick based business with
strong local ties. Weston has also entered into an agreement to sell its U.S.
East Coast aquaculture operations to Cooke, subject to regulatory approvals
from the state of Maine. Weston is continuing with the process of selling its
West Coast business and expects a conclusion sometime in the third quarter.
