("Victory Nickel" or the "Company")(TSX:NI)(www.victorynickel.ca) is pleased to announce the appointment of the Honourable Ethel Dorothy Blondin-Andrew, P.C., B.Ed., LL.D as an additional Director of the Company. A former federal Minister of State, Ms. Blondin-Andrew became the first Native woman elected to Canada's House of Commons in 1988.

Born in Fort Norman (Tulita), Northwest Territories, Ms. Blondin-Andrew was first elected as a federal Member of Parliament for the district of Western Arctic, Northwest Territories in 1988. Her federal political experience spans more than 17 years, during which she held the portfolios of Secretary of State (Training and Youth), Secretary of State (Children and Youth), Minister of State (Children and Youth) and Minister of State (Northern Development). Prior to entering federal politics, Ms. Blondin-Andrew spent many years working in northern Canada as a teacher, served as an Assistant Deputy Minister with the Territorial government and worked two years with the Public Service Commission of Canada in Ottawa as the National Manager of Indigenous Training and Development.
As well as serving as a Director of Victory Nickel, Ms. Blondin-Andrew is a Director for Horizon North Logistics Inc. (TSX:HNL). In addition to her Board memberships, Ms. Blondin-Andrew:
- Is a Senator for the University of Alberta;
- Is the Working Chair for the Mackenzie Gas Project Impact Fund;
- Is a member of the Tulita District Land Corporation, representing land owners and their issues;
- Is a member of the EL 397 Committee that presides over the access and benefits related to resource development in the Tulita District;
- Is a member of the Joint Advisory Committee on the Mackenzie Gas Project;
- Serves as the Chief Negotiator for the Devolution and Resource Revenue Sharing Committee known as Team Sahtu;
- Was elected to the Norman Wells Land Corporation in the Sahtu Region of the Northwest Territories for which she has served as the Economic Advisor and Chair for the Claimant Corporation; and,
- Represents the Norman Wells Land Corporation on the Naats'ihch'oh National Park Reserve working group.
