CALGARY, June 13 /CNW/ - Penn West Energy Trust ("Trust") is pleased to
announce the appointment of officers to Penn West Petroleum Ltd. ("Penn
West"), administrator of the Trust.
William Andrew, P.Eng., Bill is a graduate of the University of
President and Chief Prince Edward Island and the Technical
Executive Officer University of Nova Scotia with over thirty
years of oil and natural gas industry
("industry") experience including fourteen
years with Penn West. He has been the
President of Penn West since 1995.
David Middleton, P.Eng., Dave is a graduate of the University of
Executive Vice President Toronto with over twenty-five years of
("VP") and Chief industry experience and has been with Penn
Operating Officer West since 1999, most recently as Senior Vice
President, Production.
Thane Jensen, P.Eng., Thane is a graduate of the University of
Senior VP, Exploration Oklahoma with over fifteen years of industry
and Development experience. He joined Penn West in 1998 and
was most recently Vice President,
Engineering.
Todd Takeyasu, C.A., VP, Todd is a graduate of the University of
Finance Lethbridge and a Certified Internal Auditor
with over eighteen years of industry
experience. He has been with Penn West since
1994 in roles of increasing responsibility,
most recently as Treasurer.
William Tang Kong, P.Eng., William is a graduate of the University of
VP, Corporate Development Calgary with degrees in Engineering and
Geology and has twenty years of industry
experience. He has been with Penn West since
1995. William is responsible for creating
opportunities from the Trust's extensive land
base in western Canada and for evaluating
other opportunities for value enhancement for
Trust Unitholders.
Kristian Tange, M.B.A., Kristian is a graduate of the University of
VP, Business Development Calgary and joined Penn West in 1995 where he
was most recently Manager, Marketing.
Kristian will be responsible for pursuing
opportunities for the Trust from alternative
energy sources and from enhancement of the
Trust's major oil producing properties
through tertiary recovery including the lead
role in the Pembina CO2 Project. He will also
have responsibility for the marketing of the
Trust's natural gas, crude oil and natural
gas liquids production.
Anne Thomson, P.Geol., Anne is a graduate of the University of
VP Exploration and Calgary with over twenty-one years of
Gregg Gegunde, P.Eng., industry experience including five years in
VP Development roles of increasing responsibility with Penn
West. Gregg is a graduate of the University
of Calgary with fifteen years of industry
experience. Anne and Gregg will have joint
responsibility for managing the core assets
of the Trust and for enhancing Unitholder
value through exploration and development of
these assets.
Eric Obreiter, P. Eng., Eric is a graduate of University of Alberta
VP Production with twenty years of industry experience.
Eric will be responsible for optimizing the
efficient production of the Trust's producing
properties.
These appointments recognize the importance of having a strong,
experienced and cohesive team to develop, enhance and implement Penn West's
strategy for producing superior returns on a sustained basis for Unitholders
of Penn West Energy Trust.
